How would your orgn include 2010 UN the international yr of biodiversity into its HSE agenda?

How many of us, HSE professionals in the organisation that we serve have currently identified the need to include the 2010 UN s International YEAR OF BIODIVERSITY in the work that we do?

BIODIVERSITY is defined by Wikipedia as the variation of life forms within a given ecosystem, biome, or for the entire Earth. Biodiversity is often used as a measure of the health of biological systems.

The link between us being HSE Professionals and this year long event is quite clear. INfact, among the three variable of the H;S; and E, two are directly intertwined. They are the H and E factor. As defined by wikipedia,H factor the health does not literally confine to employees but could be extended to cover as well the health of the biological system as well. Thus, HSE Professional need to look overboard and out of the box to achieve a broader and safer health of the biological systems that our business is surrounded by.

Another the second factor, would be the E factor obviously. Environment Professionals are always on the toe to check how the biodiversity of the environment of where we serve is not negatively influenced by our business activities.

There is just alot to gain by organisations and companies if we as HSE Professionals were to take a step further in incorporating the UN declared International Year of the Biodiversity. We need to support this noble act by the UN. ;)
