A very un-orthodox way of testing a safety harness and certainly not one we would recommended,

Please remember, the CORRECT way to test your safety harness is to inspect it, making sure you check the straps for fraying, discolouration or damage, ensuring the buckles correctly connect, are not warped, don’t slip and that you are comfortable using the harness yourself, if at any stage you are unhappy with the inspection or feel unsafe, do not use it, report it, remember you must have the correct PPE for your task and it is your employers responsibility to ensure you are safe at work, a harness can be replaced, you cannot, so don’t cut corners!

“In order to provide PPE for their employees, employers must do more than simply have the equipment on the premises. The employees must have the equipment readily available, or at the very least have clear instructions on where they can obtain it.”

Nice post.

This actually shows, without meaning to, the issue of Horseplay under the category of Behavioral Safety.
